Pacific Query
I know that if I were younger and more tech-savvy, I could find this out online, but bear with me. I'm deciding whether to go to the Pacific APA this year, and know next to nothing about the geography of the West Coast. How close is the beach to the conference hotel?

There are several beaches in the region (Ocean Beach, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, La Jolla's beaches). All are within very short drives. None are walking distance.
Is this a serious question from someone who runs a blog (let alone from someone who is as smart as one needs to be in order to be a professional philosopher)? I find it difficult to believe that it is.
A decoye Spiros = Leiter? Why didnt you not read the the other post I put up? That's completely wrong unfair. I put up a post telling you not to read the ohter post.
Sprios, why did you post my last commnet? I emailed you and told you that I emailed you NOT to post it?! You didn't respond to my EMAIL now my cover is blowed! Youa re professoionally wrong unfair!
I've never quite understood the Spiros = Leiter speculation. After all, unlike Spiros, Leiter lacks a genuine sense of humour, as anyone who has read his annual April Fool's Day "joke" can attest.

Observations from an old cranky jerk who happens to be a professional philosopher. Occasionally philosophical, most often just vulgar. Sometimes focused on sober points of logic and issues in political theory, but more frequently fixed on nonsense. Bad metal bands, crappy guitarists, stupid lyrics, celebrities, pop "culture," telemarketers, irrationality, and other annoyances. Always misanthropic. Anti-religious. Not particularly amusing, either. Some might say insulting. Strange mail. Kook magnet. Doom. Comments from other cranky jerks, young and old.

The beaches are Ocean Beach and north. (There is a beach on Coronado, which is closer for flying crows.)
The wind will blow your socks off. If that doesn't scare you, though, Coronado beach (on the island across from downtown SD) is by far the closest.
hey spiros. there's this new thing called "google"; it can be found on the "interweb"
I prefer desert landscapes.
They are also nearby!
Margaritas have salt. I think that's close enough to the beach.

another decoy to get people to stop thinking spiros = leiter
A decoy? Ok, you caught me. I'm Spiros.
Cue a series of admissions of identity, Spartacus-style, in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ...
